GO Blairgowrie - High energy from the word go!

The GO Blairgowrie brand identity  was designed by the author and the basic idea and vision is that it will be a great asset in promoting the town.

The ‘GO’ strategy - A brief overview…

As a local, my intent has been to represent Blairgowrie as a forward-moving and energetic town and I wanted an easy to identify design that captures the spirit and positive energy that runs through our community while also ensuring that our town was seen as the inclusive place that it is. The town is full of like-minded, active and fully devoted people who’s creativity and pride needed to be represented.  Whilst creating the logo, the main focus was taking inspiration and recognising  diversity and individuality and this was important to what the image should signify.  Then at some point everything finally clicked with ‘GO’ being the key word.

Impact: The final design instantly draws your eye towards the separation of the word ‘GO’ and visually fits well making it more appealing.  It’s basic, timeless and functional and reflects my vision of inspiring the local residents while at the same time encouraging even more tourists and potential visitors to interact and go take a closer look at what’s on offer locally.

Branding and visibility…

The Go Blairgowrie initiative is my my gift to the town and it’s people and I welcome the opportunity to advertise this on a wider scale to help create an identity that everyone can be proud to be associated with.  I feel confident in the image and the look feels right.  My hope is that it will be a welcome boost to the area and will serve to strengthen our marketing effort and encourage potential residents, businesses and visitors as they look to connect with the town.

Purpose and target audience…

To date, Go Blairgowrie has been successful as a project in its own right and a positive influence to Blairgowrie and is growing fast in popularity.  A major aim is to build on our achievement across various social media platforms from which information is drawn.
